Parent Groups

Hello Klahowya families,

Do you appreciate our teachers?  Do you appreciate art?  Do you like to support Eagle SPIRIT at our school?  Do you like to support scholarship efforts for KSS graduating seniors? 

These are the areas KSS PTSA has been able to make a difference at Klahowya Secondary School. 

If you would like to take part in the activities listed above OR if you have ideas where KSS PTSA can make a difference for your student, please join PTSA!

PARENT/STUDENT/TEACHER ASSOCIATION (PTSA)

Reasons to join:   

  • Information - stay informed about PTSA, KSS, CKSD activities and other education related news. 
  • Graduating Senior Scholarships - funds awarded annually.
  • Grad Night Scholarships – funds awarded annually.
  • Volunteer Opportunities
  • National PTA Reflections Program - cultural arts contest, 
  • KSS PTSA supports activities such as the Flight Path, Eaglets Visit, Reflections and more.
  • Advocacy -WSPTA - largest youth advocacy organization in Washington.

BOOSTER CLUB

The KSS Booster Club is a parent group which seeks to support our student athletes in their extra-curricular activities.  They provide concessions at school events and fundraising opportunities for many parent groups at Klahowya.  One of the Booster Club projects has been to raise money for scholarships, and they have given scholarships totaling $1,500.00 to graduating seniors in each of the last several years. New members are welcome.  Please email [email protected] with questions or to request an application.

KLAHOWYA PERFORMING ARTS PARENT ASSOCIATION (KPAPA)

SPECIAL EDUCATION PARENT ADVISORY COUNCIL (SEPAC)

The Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) gives information and support to advocates and parents of children with special needs. They regularly invite district administrators and educators to talk with parents.

VOLUNTEER  PROGRAM

To volunteer, even for a one-time event, visit CKSD Volunteer and fill out the CKSD Volunteer Disclosure form.  Approved applications are good for two years. Contact Dina Lane, Volunteer Coordinator with questions at 662-4002.
