Principal's Message

Hello Klahowya Families and Students,

This week was packed with exciting events. We celebrated our Middle School and High School students with separate awards programs, had our Moving Up Assembly and last night we celebrated our High School Seniors with Graduation. We are proud of the Class of 2024 and their accomplishments! Congratulations to the Class of 2024!

Next week we will remain on a modified schedule for class finals on Monday, June 17th. The final day of school is on Tuesday, June 18th and students will be dismissed at 11:00 a.m. (There is no lunch service on Tuesday 6/18) We appreciate you making arrangements to pick up students as the building will close at 12:00 p.m. If students have evening events, please have them return at that time.

Be sure to stop by our lost and found before you leave for the Summer. As a reminder, the Main Office will be closed from 1 p.m. on June 26th through August 18th.

Attendance/Tardies/Early Dismissals

Absence: Parents/guardian may call, 360-662-4031, the attendance office 24 hours a day to report or excuse students’ absence. If leaving a message, clearly state your students' name, your relationship to the student, date(s) of absence and reason(s) for the absence. Students may also give the Attendance Secretary a written note (from parent/guardian) with the same information signed by a parent/guardian. A parent/guardian may also email the Attendance Secretary: ([email protected]).

Hey incoming Seniors, this message is for you! Tuesday, June 18th, the last day of school, meet at the "K" at 10 a.m! Be part of the tradition and put your handprint on the "K", you will get a free Senior T-shirt and we will take a photo of you for the yearbook! Congratulations on moving up to the Senior Class!

What support, programs, or change do youth need? Join the Team to share your opinions and develop programs, events, and solutions for our community to improve the wellbeing and educational attainment of young people. See your Class Google Classroom for more information and please submit this Google Form by June 21, 2024.

Volunteer Opportunity

Kitsap County Fair is currently in search of one or two student volunteers to assist during the fair from August 21st to 25th. The shifts will run from approximately 9:30 am to either 10:00 or 11:00 pm. Volunteers will have the exciting opportunity to work behind the scenes and assist with various aspects of entertainment. Additionally, following the fair, the Blues Festival will take place, featuring some prominent acts, and a student could continue to assist with the entertainment.

Parchment and Final Transcripts

The last day of school is June 18, but final grades are not posted until June 26. Seniors, please log into Parchment and request a transcript to be sent to:

Your email address so you have a transcript for your own records

Your final college decision, as all colleges will want to see your final transcript.

Select “Hold for grades” and it will be sent after final grades are posted.

Remember, Parchment is free to you as a student, but once you graduate, Parchment is no longer free and you will have to pay ≈ $5 for transcripts.

So log in now and request those transcripts!

Summer Resources

Hey Eagles, we know that summertime brings sunshine, free time, and a lot less homework — but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s an easy season for everyone. Summertime can also be a struggle when everyday routines and connections are interrupted. Research shows that these struggles can often turn into mental health challenges during the summer months, but the good news is that your Klahowya counseling team is here to provide you with some tips, tricks, and resources to help your student stay emotionally healthy this summer!

Please take a few minutes to watch the Caring for your Mental Health presentation, where the KSS Counselors walk you through all the different ways your student can care for their mental health this summer and how you can get help when you need it! We also encourage you to save a copy of the Mental Health Resources handout, which includes a list of contact information for counseling services and helplines, along with some ideas for different coping skills and self-help strategies to help your student have a wonderful summer!

Summer School

PE courses MUST BE started by June 3.
Students taking a PE course are not able to enroll in any other courses
Registration closes on July 12.
