KSS Saturday School
We are planning on running two sessions of Saturday School in January. Saturday School supports students with increasing academic achievement and helps support students with end of semester finals. This year we are opening Saturday School to both High School and Middle School students. Snacks will be provided at each session.
When: Saturday, January 20th and January 27th 8:30 am - 11:30 am
Where: Klahowya Secondary School
Why: Saturday School is a great opportunity for students to:
- Study in small groups for AP Semester Finals
- Complete group projects for Magnet Courses

Complete missing or incomplete assignments
- Complete test/quiz retakes in a supervised setting
All students are welcome to join us at Saturday School. See you then.
Peninsula Community Health Vaccine Clinic
PCHS is hosting a vaccine clinic at our Silverdale Children's Clinic on January 13th from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Kitsap Public Health Department Free Vaccine Clinics
Kitsap Public Health Department is offering immunization clinics at the end of this month on January 23rd, January 24th, and January 25th. The Kitsap County Care-A-Van will be providing vaccinations regardless of insurance status. Please see the attached flyers. 8th Grade Only Dance June 7th, 2024
We are excited to announce that on June 7th, 2024, Klahowya will be hosting our first ever 8th grade only dance.This will be a fun opportunity for the Class of 2028 to celebrate the end of Middle School. The plan is for an evening event with a live D.J. It will be a free event for all 8th graders.
Because this is a new event, we are looking to form a Parent/Family Planning Group. This group would help plan the event, assist with fundraising, and help with decorations and set-up. High School Winter Formal January 19, 2024
The High School Winter Formal is on January 19th from 7-10 p.m. This dance is open to all Klahowya 9th-12th graders. Tickets for the Winter Formal are now on sale at the bookkeeper's office! $12 with ASB and $15 without ASB. All guest passes are $15 and there are a limited amount available! Forms are available at the bookkeeper's window and in your Google Classroom.
Klahowya Performing Arts Parents Association (KPAPA)
We are looking for parents that are interested in being involved with performing arts at KSS. Do you have a student who is in choir or likes to perform in the talent shows or in theater productions? We would love it if you volunteered with KPAPA! There are so many opportunities to help and it is very rewarding when you see the students perform knowing that you had a part in it. Financial Aid Night and FAFSA
Seniors and Senior Families, the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) opened on DEC 31. We encourage all seniors to fill out the FAFSA as soon as possible at https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa
Klahowya will be hosting a Financial Aid night on JAN 24 at 6:30pm in the Klahowya commons. Come learn about Financial Aid for college as well as receive assistance with the FAFSA. If you plan on filling out the FAFSA at this meeting, please bring the following:

Kitsap County Summer Help Positions
Applications for Kitsap County Public Works' Summer Employment Program are now open. Applicants must be 18 years old by May 1, 2024, and the season is May - September 30.
Many CKSD students have worked for Kitsap County during their summers after graduation, it’s a GREAT summer job for college kids and/or those figuring out their next steps. The county can be flexible with start and end dates to accommodate for school schedules. Apply here.
Klahowya Foundation Scholarship Fund
Klahowya Community, do you belong to a business or civic group that is looking for ways to make a difference?
We are actively seeking funds to build our scholarship program again this year and we are asking for your support. Scholarship awards, of any amount, will help Klahowya seniors continue with post-secondary education in colleges, universities and technical schools.
Businesses, civic groups and individuals contributing to our scholarship fund will be listed on our Graduation Commencement Program. In addition, a gift of $250 or more will be listed as a specific scholarship carrying the name of the contributor. Your donation is important to us.

West Sound Tech “Explore Your Future”
10th and 11th graders, come out to the Explore Your Future free community event on February 26th from 5-7 pm at the Kitsap Pavilion. (Please note that this is an updated date and place). Experience what WST classes are offered, talk to current students, meet prospective employers and learn about YOUR post-secondary options including 2-year, 4-year schools, technical schools, apprenticeships, military, and more. Receive an early registration code to register before open enrollment begins. Please note that there will be no WST Summer School this year due to construction.
WSU Native American Youth Sports Summit February 4th, 2024
Native American Programs and Washington State University Cougar Athletics are excited to invite Native American middle and high school students in grades 6-12 to campus for the Native American Youth Sports Summit.
During this FREE 1-day event, students will:
