Public Comment Guidelines

As elected representatives, our school board members value hearing from families and community members about policies and issues affecting our schools. The board provides the opportunity for public comments during “Communications and Announcements.” If you wish to speak, please review the guidelines below. Thank you!

  • This is a time for board members to listen and consider, but not to comment or debate.

  • You must complete this form to speak during tonight’s meeting.

  • Public comment is limited to 3 minutes per speaker, and speakers may not yield their time to someone else. The board will let you know when your time is up. To avoid interrupting speakers, there will be no warning(s).

  • Comments must be acceptable for a business and family-friendly environment. Public comments are effective when they are concise and delivered with civility and respect.

  • This is not an appropriate forum for negative comments or criticisms of individual staff or students. Due to legal constraints, concerns involving individual employees should be addressed through the appropriate administrative supervisors, either in the schools or in the district office.
