Note about Summer School

If your student has received either an ‘F’ or an ‘INCOMPLETE’ for any courses, we strongly encourage them to enroll in Summer School in order to recover needed credits for high school graduation. Classes are FREE and are in an online format. The deadline to register for Summer school is July 7th. Register online on the CKSD website at http://ckschools.org/summer.

Scholarship Newsletter

Juniors, please see last week’s newsletter for suggestions on your college research over the summer, including a list of schools you might want to research.  Scholarship Newsletter 6.16.23

FAFSA

What is FAFSA?  FAFSA is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.  Colleges use your FAFSA data to determine your federal aid eligibility.  Many states and colleges use FAFSA data to award their own aid.  We encourage ALL students (Class of 2024) to fill out the FAFSA.  Even if you don’t receive aid, a lot of colleges will require that your FAFSA form be filled out to grant you academic scholarships as well.

In the past, the FAFSA has opened each year on OCT 1.  Many changes are being made to the FAFSA for this coming year and it will be delayed in its opening.  We will make sure everyone has all the information they need to fill out their FAFSA and we will help you through the process.    In the meantime, you can create your FAFSA ID now.

Chris Koeblin is our resident financial aid specialist.  He will be available all summer out of Olympic College for any financial aid questions.          Email:  [email protected]

CKSD Online Summer Academy

Students currently in grades 8-12 can earn 0.5 initial credit per course through Summer Academy. Students with incompletes can earn recovery credits through our Completion Academy. A second course may be started if you complete your first course by July 7. You must register for your second course by July 7.

Register Here:  CKSD Online Summer Academy

Transcripts

We use a service called Parchment to order and deliver transcripts. Parchment is free to you as

long as you are a Klahowya student.

Before you create your Parchment account, make sure you have a professional, personal email address. Do not use your CKSD email address.

Click here to create your Parchment account.

If you need to send a final copy of your transcript AFTER 2nd semester grades are

posted, be sure to select the option to “Hold Transcript for Grades.”
