A message from Principal McDaniel

Hello Klahowya Eagles and Families!

Congratulations on a great first week! We are so excited to start this new school year! Over the last three days we have seen students establishing relationships with new friends and reconnecting. We are off to a great start!

As we begin the school year, the Klahowya Staff is excited to connect with our community through Open House on Thursday, September 15th from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Open House is a great opportunity to get to know your school while meeting your child’s teachers and finding out more regarding curriculum and expectations. We will have events and information tables set up in the Commons and an opportunity for you to tour the building.

We look forward to seeing everyone in person but if you are unable to attend, we have a variety of ways that you can “meet” your student’s teachers. On Thursday, we will send out more information regarding teacher introductory videos and our Open House Website. This will feature short videos from our staff where you can learn more about them and their classes.

Student conferences are right around the corner October 27 – 28. More information on this event will be available soon.

A Note from Attendance

Long time Eagle but new to attendance, Terri McKinnis has joined the main office team. Some may recognize Ms. “T” from our KAP program. Please report all absences, tardies and dismissals to Ms. T with either a note from home, by calling (360) 662-4031 or email [email protected]. All absences must be reported within 48 hours. If you wish to pick up your student early, please give us at least 30 minutes to get them from class.

PSAT

The PSAT is on October 12th in the Main Gym. Sign up for the PSAT in the SSC. The test is open to 9th and 10th graders for an $18 fee (Please pay the bookkeeper). 11th graders do not have a fee but still need to sign up in the SSC.

Parent Access:

Parent Access allows you to see live attendance, scheduling, and grading information for your child. Additionally, you can sign up for weekly grade updates and read the daily bulletin on this site. You can find Parent Access at the following link: http://ps.cksd.wednet.edu/public

Lunch Information:

Students will return to paying for lunches during the 2022-2023 school year. We are also moving to a new payment system for lunches. A food service account is automatically set up for every child once they enroll at CKSD.
