Hello Klahowya Families and Students,
We hope you stayed warm and safe over the Holiday Break. We know that many of our families were trapped at home because of the incredible snowfall and many also experienced the loss of power. Despite the crazy weather, we hope you were able to spend some time with family and get energized for the new year!
As we return to school, we appreciate your help with our Covid protocols. The current case rate is at an all-time high in our area and we are seeing active cases in both vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals. If your student shows any signs of Covid, like stuffy nose, headache, sore throat, body aches, fever, nausea, or loss of taste/smell, please keep your student home and get them tested. If you have a positive case in your household, please call us so that we can help you determine next steps. Our hope is to keep school running, but we can only do this if we work together as a community. Social Distancing, mask use and sanitizing hands all help reduce the risk of transmission.
Over the next couple of weeks, we will send notification letters home to High School students who are at risk of earning an Incomplete Grade for Semester 1. The term is supposed to end at the end of January so now is the time to turn in any missing work and to get those retakes completed. There is still time to improve grades before the end of the term.
Because of the three snow days this week, our district will be revising our calendar to make these days up. This may impact the end of Semester 1 and several non-school days currently marked on the district calendar. Please watch for additional communication on adjustments to these calendars. We will not have school on Monday 1/17/22 in observance of the Martin Luther King National Holiday.
Home basketball games this weekend (Saturday January 8th) have been rescheduled to February 10th due to Covid protocols. Middle School Girls Basketball and Middle School Wrestling begin their season on Monday January 10th.
Happy New Year!
