Hello Klahowya students and families,
We recognize that many of you may be wondering about the High School Tolo Dance that is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2023. On Saturday evening, February 25th, the Kitsap County weather forecast indicates a high chance of new snow accumulation of up to 3” at our school. To maintain student safety, and in an abundance of caution, we’ve made the decision to postpone our High School Tolo Dance until March 11, 2023.
All previously sold tickets and guest passes will be honored on Saturday, March 11. Discipline expectations remain the same, and students should not have discipline during this two-week period.
If students have conflicts with the new date resulting in them being unable to attend, please have them come to the main office.
Looking at the weather next week, we are still seeing cold temperatures and a chance of snow throughout the week. If we experience any delays or cancellations, the district will communicate this information. You can always check our website for more information.
Please stay safe and keep warm,
Scott McDaniel
Principal

Why attendance matters for kids?
A habit of attendance IS a school readiness skill. Along with social-emotional and readiness skills, consistent on-time attendance is a habit that lasts. Children who are chronically absent in preschool are far more likely to be chronically absent in later grades. Good attendance reflects strong parent engagement.
