A message from Principal McDaniel

Hello Klahowya Students and Families,

Save the dates!

We are excited to announce that our Class of 2021 Graduation Ceremony is on! Please mark your calendars for Saturday, June 12th for our in-person Commencement ceremony to honor our class of 2021 Seniors. We are planning our ceremonies within the DOH and CDC guidelines for COVID safety and have scheduled the Kitsap Fairgrounds Pavilion for our traditional ceremony. We are able to offer two tickets for in-person attendance per graduate at this time and will be live-streaming the event for all others to watch remotely. We anticipate we will hold one ceremony, depending on health guidelines.

Our Eagle Scholars Awards Night will also be a special occasion! Please reserve the afternoon/evening of Wednesday, May 26 for our Senior Drive Thru Celebration. Students (accompanied by their loved ones) will receive their senior awards and celebrate these accomplishments during a campus parade, followed by our Virtual Senior Awards presentation online later that evening.

Planning for these important milestones is underway and we’ll keep you updated as details develop in the coming weeks.

Thank you,
Scott McDaniel

Just like the picture, the way we see dating behavior is different now. Kids talk about liking someone and dating before they have any idea what it even means. Have you asked your 4th, 9th, or 12th grader what dating looks like? Have you asked your 4th, 9th, or 12th grader what they are supposed to do when they date? Have you watched your 4th, 9th, or 12th grader act around the person they are dating? How are you supposed to talk to your kids about these things? How are you supposed to tell them your family rules about dating and have them follow them? So many questions. Possibly, too much reality at one time. Let's break down this dating thing into manageable pieces.

Nope. You can't date...I'm not ready. (CKSD Family Wellness Site Link)
