Student Athletic Interest Survey

An athletic interest survey will be given to current students in grades 6th-11th.  The athletic interest survey helps schools determine whether they are providing equal athletic opportunities for male and female students.  The results from the survey can help a school determine whether to add a new sport or perhaps a new team for a sport it already offers.   Schools that operate or sponsor athletics must administer this survey at least once every three years. The survey will be conducted between April 18-28 in academy.

Youth Digital Wellbeing for Parents: As parents, we struggle with balancing our children’s time spent in the digital world and what we consider the real world. It’s not easy to know how much time on technology is too much and how to set boundaries that don’t create conflict. Join us for a conversation with a digital wellbeing expert to learn some practical solutions to our everyday concerns and challenges around our kids’ use of screens and their mental health. Come together with other families for a facilitated discussion by a FamilySmart Parent Peer Support Worker.

These 'in the know' events are hosted by FamilySmart and are for parents & caregivers who are parenting a child or youth with a mental health and/or substance use challenges.  We watch a video and share experiences and strategies that help in the hard moments and focus on strengthening our understanding and connection with our kids.

Dates: 

1.      April 26th from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

2.      April 28th from 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

Students have been given their course selection forms for the 2022-2023 school year.  Parent/Guardian signatures are required to register.  High School students will register their selection in PowerSchool on the following dates:

9th grade - April 25

10th grade - April 26

11th grade - April 27

ATTENDANCE CORNER

Extended Absences: (3 or more days)

If your student will be gone for an extended period, please notify the Attendance Office several days ahead of time if possible. The Attendance Office will provide a form for the student to take around to their teachers. Schoolwork can only be requested by Attendance for unexpected absences of more than 3 days, Attendance can then make arrangements with teachers to provide schoolwork. It is your responsibility to check google classroom and/or pick up the schoolwork from the Attendance Office.
