Welcome 2024-2025 Students, Families and Staff!
We welcome you to Klahowya Secondary School and to the 2024-2025 school year! We hope you
had a great Summer and that you were able to enjoy time with family and friends. We are looking
forward to seeing you!
Summer Office Hours: The school office is open from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. until Septem-
ber 3rd.
Main Office: (360)-662-4000
Student Services Office: (360) 662-4040
Offices will be closed, Monday, September 2nd in honor of Labor Day.
New Phone System
We have a new phone system and are working to make the necessary changes to staff phone
numbers on our KSS website, staff directory. This should be updated by the first day of school.
Flight Path will be on Thursday August 22nd from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Students can pick up a draft of their schedule and get their school photo taken by Quality
School Portraits. (Schedules are subject to change.) Take this opportunity to find out about clubs, activities, athletics and sign up for PTSA. The school will be open for self guided tours.
To avoid waiting in line during Flight Path, you may pay for items such as ASB cards and outstand-
ing fees online. Go to https://wa-centralkitsap.intouchreceipting.com/. To login, your child’s stud-
ent number is the user name and your child’s last name (with the first letter capitalized) is the
password. This link will be available on and after August 22, 2024.
Schedule Pickup: A draft copy of student schedules will be available at Flight Path. If students
cannot attend Flight Path, they may stop by the Main Office between August 23 - Sept. 3rd.
Student schedules and picture make-ups will be available on the first day of school on September
4th.
School Pictures: If you did not get your picture taken at Flight Path, student pictures will
be held first thing in the morning on September 4th.
Open House/Orientation: Students and parents/guardians are invited to come to KSS
for Open House on Monday, September 9th at 6:00 p.m. Open House is a great opport-
unity to get to know your school while meeting your child’s teachers and finding out more
regarding curriculum and expectations.
Student Self Drivers: Students who drive themselves to school must complete a KSS
Student Parking contract each year. The form is available online. Students must display
a parking placard to park on campus and these will be distributed at Flight path. If students
self-drive and do not complete a parking contract and display an approved placard, they
may receive a parking ticket.
Bus Route Information: Bus stop routes and times are available online.
Attendance: Regular and prompt attendance is essential to the learning process.
If your child will be late or cannot attend school due to illness or family emergency, please
call our 24-hour attendance line at (360) 662-4030. Information regarding our attendance
policy is available online.
Parent Access: Parent Access allows you to see live attendance, scheduling, and grading
information for your child. Additionally, you can sign up for weekly grade updates and read
the daily bulletin on this site. You can find Parent Access at the following link:
http://ps.cksd.wednet.edu/public
Student Fees and Payment: Fees may be paid online through our InTouch system.
To login, your child’s student number is the username and your child’s last name (with
the first letter capitalized) is the password.
Lunch Information: A food service account is automatically set up for every child once
they enroll at CKSD. Parents may track their student's meal charging activity and will
make payments to their account online. Please find out more information on this system
and you can find menus here
School Supplies: A supply list can be accessed on our website. Additionally, we will be
providing all students with a KSS planner, free of charge! There is a $5.00 charge for a
replacement. If students need supplies, please talk with our counseling department as
we are happy to assist in filling this need.
Athletics: Athletic registration is required to participate in sports at Klahowya. We use
a service called Final Forms for easy, online registration. Families will be asked to create
an account, with options to register more than one student. Please visit our Athletic
Registration page for the link to Final Forms. High School Fall sports include Boys
Tennis, Cross Country, Football, Girls Soccer, Girls Swim and Girls Volleyball. High School
Fall sports began in August. Middle School Fall sports begin on September 4th
and include Track & Field for grades 6th, 7th, & 8th and Fastpitch for 6th, 7th, & 8th
grade girls. Please visit our HS Sports page and MS Sports page for more information.
CKSD has waived athletic fees for the 2024-25 school year. Student athletes are still
required to purchase an ASB card prior to participating in sports. ASB cards are $30
for Middle School and $50 for High School. Students and families who qualify for free
or reduced meals may request to share this information for the purpose of reduced fees
(including ASB Cards). Here are the steps:
Apply for free/reduced meals here.
Once you have received notification for free or reduced meal eligibility, you will receive
a link via email to share your information. This step must be completed. This will allow
for the possibility of other reduced or waived fees for ASB cards, dance tickets, testing,
uniforms etc. If you have any questions, please contact Child Nutrition Services at
360-662-1090.
Volunteering: We have an outstanding group of volunteers and are always looking
to increase volunteer involvement in our school. All volunteers need to complete a
volunteer application and disclosure form that is returned to the KSS office with a
copy of your driver’s license (front and back). This packet can be found online or
obtained in the KSS office throughout the school year and will also be available
at Flight Path. Returning volunteers need to complete and submit this packet
every two years.
Medicine at School: In order for students to take any medication at
school, we must have a current Physician’s Form and signature on file.
Forms are available online or in the main office. Parents may bring a
one-month supply of medication. Parents must bring in all medications.
Here at Klahowya, we want you and your child to feel connected as an integral
part of our learning community. We make it a priority to ensure you feel welcomed
and informed. If you ever have any questions or concerns, we encourage you to
contact the school and talk with one of us.
