Hello Klahowya Eagles and Families,
Our school year is well under way and it's already time for fall conferences. You will be receiving links from our school next week to begin scheduling in person conferences during the week of October 26-28. We encourage families to conference in person, but also can set up a zoom conference if prearranged with individual teachers. We look forward to meeting with you to discuss your child's progress.
This week, we had a very successful College and Career day. More than 100 representatives from colleges, businesses and trades were available to meet with our students. Activities were planned for and enjoyed by all grade levels.
Next week is a busy week. We have spirit days on Tuesday through Friday. On Friday, October 14 all grades will attend our Homecoming Assembly at the end of the day. The assembly will begin around 1:45 p.m. and will end at 2:35 p.m. A bell schedule will be posted early next week. Also on Friday, October 14, Klahowya will host a home football game against Bellevue Christian. Tickets must be purchased electronically at the link below. To cap off the Homecoming week, High School students may purchase tickets to the Homecoming Dance on Saturday, October 15 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Last day to purchase Homecoming Dance tickets is Wednesday, October 12.
Monday, October 10 is Indigenous People's Day, a federal holiday. Take a break and get some rest. Maybe watch the Mariners as they play in the Wild Card Series in Toronto. We'll see you on Tuesday.
Go Eagles! (and Mariners!)
Mr. McDaniel
Principal

Tuesday is Tee Time Tuesday. What does that mean? It means you should dress as a golfer.
Wednesday is Athlete or MathAthlete.
Thursday is College Day
Friday is Class Colors.
Don’t forget to stop by the Spirit Shack Spirit Points. Who will have the most spirit points in HS and MS?

Every year, Central Kitsap School District applies for Federal Impact Aid funding. These funds compensate CKSD for the loss of local tax dollars from tax exempt federal property. The results of our Impact Aid survey help support our request for these federal funds. This survey is critical to our district’s resources for students. Please complete this online form as soon as possible. Log into PowerSchool Parent Portal to access the online forms for your students. You can learn more at https://www.ckschools.org/impactaid or email [email protected] with your questions.
Thank you for your cooperation!

|
|
The PSAT will be given on Oct 12 for 9th-11th graders. Students should report to the Main Gym as soon as they arrive. The test will go until about noon.
All 11th graders are automatically signed up for the test and do not need to pay the fee. WST juniors, you have been opted out of the PSAT. If you would like to take the PSAT, please see Mr. Miles to be opted in.
Any 9th and 10th graders wanting to take the PSAT will need to sign up in the Student Services Center (SSC) AND pay an $18 fee to the book keeper. All spots are currently full, so you will be placed on a waitlist. You won’t need to pay unless you are able to take the test.
Opting Out of the PSAT
Parents, if you would like to opt your 11th graders out of taking the PSAT, please fill out the PSAT/NMSQT Parent Opt Out Form no later than Monday, October 10th to make space for 9th and 10th graders eager to take this test. Research shows that missing 10 percent of the school year, or about 18 days in most school districts, negatively affects a student’s academic performance. That’s just two days a month and that’s known as chronic absence.

Senior Memory Pages (senior ads) will be due February 6, 2023. Our space for senior ads is limited, so orders will be taken on a first come, first served basis. Once your ad is designed, a proof will be sent to you for final approval. You will have five (5) days to respond with any corrections. Please keep in mind that we may not be able to use all the photos submitted. Each photo should be at least 300 dpi or higher to ensure prints are of the highest quality. Images must also be submitted digitally. Photos that are deemed unacceptable will not be used.
