A message from Principal McDaniel

Hello Klahowya Families and Students,

With conferences concluding last week, we would like to thank you for being involved in your student's education! We value partnerships with our families and know that our students are successful when we work together.

On Wednesday, November 3rd, from 6:30-8:00 pm, we invite 10th-12th grade students and parent/guardians are invited to attend Klahowya Financial Aid Information Night. Frank McNeilly from Olympic College Financial Aid Office will be providing an overview of how to complete a FAFSA application, followed by a Q&A session. At the end of the presentation there will be a senior-specific workshop during which students & parent/guardians will have the opportunity to each create their personal FAFSA accounts and begin the 2021-22 application process.

We would like to remind all families that Klahowya provides FREE afterschool tutoring on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday each week. This program is run by Klahowya staff members and is also supported with High School student tutors. We highly encourage students to come to the library on these days from 2:45-4:15 to get some assistance with work. More information on after school tutoring can be found HERE.

Attention all High School Students with Incomplete Grades.... Klahowya is pleased to announce that we will soon offer Saturday School as an option for High School students to retrieve Incomplete grades! Saturday School will be supervised by Klahowya Staff and will be a place for students to complete Incomplete courses and to help stay on track with current coursework. Mrs. Pitcher will be sending out invitations to select High School students and their families with additional details next week!

You may have seen in the news that our District is implementing a Test to Stay program for students who are identified as a close contact to an active Covid case. This program will allow us to use testing to help keep students in school when they would have been placed on quarantine. If you would like additional information on this program, the district will be updating information at this page.

Thank you again for your partnership!

Scott McDaniel
