A Message From Your Assistant Principals: Meghan Rubman and John Malich

Dear Klahowya Families,

We have accomplished so much as a school community, and we will continue to do so. This new learning model does not need to be a barrier, but instead will serve as an opportunity to change our mindset as it relates to the delivery of instruction and engaging students in learning.

This year, we are very much looking forward to providing exceptional educational experiences for our students. We want students to leave Klahowya with memories that will last a lifetime! We want our students to LOVE learning and LOVE coming to school, even if it is virtually. With your help, we can instill life-long values in our students to work hard, exceed expectations, and to appreciate their education.

Though we are forced to adapt our teaching and learning methods to address the conditions of the pandemic, our heart for our students and families remains the same, and we will do everything in our power to keep our students thriving. During these times we have a commitment to excellence, and we are sticking to it! With your support, we can build on our past successes to take Klahowya Secondary School to the next level. Please don’t hesitate to contact us, we value your input.

Here at Klahowya we want to help our families ensure that all student needs are taken care of.  The Central Kitsap School District is providing free meal packs five days a week for children through Dec. 31.  More info on pickup times and locations can be found at this link:  CKSD Meal Pickup Locations and Hours.

We encourage families to apply each school year for free or reduced price meals.  This will help ensure that families with low incomes:

One of the most common problems students are having right now is navigating Classlink. In order to log into Classlink, students need to use the same login credentials as they would the Chromebook minus the ending in their username. Go to for a short video on how to log in. Once in Classlink, students have access to their online textbooks and PowerSchool among other resources

Library LinkBooks

Library book checkout is now available!  Students can log into Destiny and place a hold. Library staff will pull the book and e-mail the student when it is ready. Pick up will be curbside in front of the school every Wednesday from 11-12:30. Go to for a short tutorial.
