When to Stay Home

Students must stay home if they have:

  • Symptoms of COVID-19 (see below).

  • Have been in close contact with someone who has confirmed COVID-19 or is presumptively positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days. (Exception: health care or EMS workers and staff associates who wore proper personal protective equipment.)

  • Influenza: Children may have the flu if they have a fever along with body aches, chills, sore throat or cough. Children must stay home until they are symptom-free for 24 hours.

  • Rashes: If children have rashes along with a fever or other signs of illness, they must see a health care provider and be cleared to return to school.

Call your child’s school nurse if you have questions, or call Health Services at 360-662-1070.
