supplies

Klahowya students do not have lockers so it is recommended that ALL students carry their supplies and personal items in a backpack or messenger-style bag.

Suggested School Supplies

  • Binder or Folder w/ Lined Paper
  •  Ball Point Pens
  •  #2 pencils or mechanical pencils
  •  Composition or spiral notebooks
  • Pencil box or pouch to hold supplies
  • Earbuds

Note: Planners will be handed out the first few days of school.

PE UNIFORMS

We recommend that students in grades 6-8 purchase a PE shirt at a cost of $5. Shirts may be purchased from the bookkeeper’s office. Students must present the bookkeeper receipt to the physical education teacher to receive his/her PE clothes. Students wishing to wear a sweatshirt or sweatpants are encouraged to wear school
colors (green, black or gray). Wearing school PE
uniforms helps to prevent locker theft, enhances
classroom management, and promotes better hygiene.

White cotton sweat socks and a pair of lace-up athletic shoes (with good arch support) are also recommended. Locks and baskets will be issued the first day of the semester. Students will be fined $7.00 for any lock not returned at the end of the semester.

ATHLETIC FEE and ASB PRIVILEGE

All students who participate in any school sport will be required to purchase ASB privileges. The high school (grades 9-12) ASB fee is $50. The middle school (grades 6-8) ASB fee is $30. Additionally, all athletes will be charged an athletic fee per sport of $75.00 for high school and $50.00 for middle school. This fee is to help defray the cost of transportation and officials.

ADVANCED PLACEMENT (AP) FEES

Each AP course will have textbook, test, or workbook fees. Please check with individual AP teacher or bookkeeper for costs. The cost for each AP tests will be $94, with a $40 deposit per test payable by November 1st.

MAKE A PAYMENT

You can pay for meals and many fees and fines directly to our main office or pay online through our district's Touchbase system. For online payments, you’ll need to know your student’s ID number, which is on report cards and available from our main office.

You can see past payments. Please note that there is a $1.75 service charge, except for lunch payments.

bus

Find bus stops and times on our Buses page, under the Info section.

We provide bus service to students who live more than a mile from their neighborhood school and students with special needs. We do not normally provide transportation to students who live outside of their normal school boundaries.

Parking

Each student who drives a car to school will be required to park in either the underclass or senior parking lot. Parking permits are $5 each, and each student-driven car parked at school requires a permit. Students and parents must also complete a Student Parking Contract.

Contact campus security if you have questions.

High school football begins on August 21 and the other high
school fall sports begin on August 26. Middle School Track & Field and middle school girls’ fastpitch both begin on September 4 (the first day of school).

Athletes must have their forms turned in before practice begins in order to participate. Download paperwork from our Athletic Eligibility page. Turn in all forms to Mrs. Torgerson at the Bookkeeping Window. Not sure when your child’s physical expires? Call Sharyl Torgerson at 360-662-4012 or send an email to sharylt@ckschools.org.

For 2019-20, the price of Klahowya’s yearbook is
$50. However, during August and September, if a high school student purchases an ASB card in the same transaction as a yearbook, the price for both is $90. And, if a middle school student purchases an ASB card in the same transaction as a yearbook, the price for both is $75.

This discount is only available through September 30, 2019, and only when both the ASB card and yearbook are purchased in the same transaction. You can access this special pricing online or at the Bookkeeper’s office.

Olympic Photo Group will take school portraits this fall during Flight Path in August. This is your photo day for yearbook, ID cards and portrait orders.

Please review the school dress code policy for photos. Order forms will be available on photo day during the event. You may also visit the OPG website and pre-pay for photos or download an order form if you like. Prepay is best as that will expedite your experience on orientation/photo day. You may contact OPG directly at 360-447-8318 or photo@olympicphotogroup.com.
